Thought I would post a single full picture of my painting of Raptor Jesus for fun.
I drew some sketches of my were species, the Neanderthal werewolves. I’ll write something more lengthy about them wen I get the chance. I feel like they should have hair patches similar to apes, where the chest is exposed and the groin area has thinned hair.
The hind feet are much more canid, but their hands are more similar to humans and apes than to wolf. It would be hard to grip objects if they had thick fatty pads on the ends of finger tips and a big pad in the ball of the palm. The fur would be slick and ‘cause objects to slip…it would be hard to grasp unless the palms were bald and had more padding. But that’s my opinion. The palms though would be thick enough for them to sprint on all fours to speed them up or allow them to climb trees without hurting themselves on the bark.
I added more to the doodle I did earlier of the velociraptor pouncing the Kulindadromeus zabaikalicus. I watched a lot of animal pouncing videos for these and birds of prey attacking snakes.
Most of the time the birds are fluffed out when they’re peering over before tearing into their prey.
I do feel like the tail needs to be positioned up for the down strike in the second panel.
I doodled a velociraptor mongoliensis pouncing the newly discovered Kulindadromeus zabaikalicus. I was lazy about looking up markings for it and seeing if I got it’s anatomy right….I wanted to put something there for my raptor to pounce.
They probably never crossed paths…I haven’t done any research yet on the new guy.
Anyway just a quick doodle on how I imagine a raptor or dromeosaurid would pounce on a prey.
sorry for the bad photo…i’m without my scanner.
Kasa meets my partner’s wolf character Dare. Somehow she got there via wormhole or time machine or something.
I drew Kasa in more of a defensive stance, holding a mammoth tusk sword.
Clothing is made custom for the fur patches, in winter I would think her front would be covered to keep the bare chest and stomach from freezing.
Drawn one night while watching game of thrones.
Here are some more photos I got of this female Anna’s Hummingbird, she returns daily and we’re planning on getting a feeder for her and her bothersome pair….maybe that will reduce the aggression?
I’m thinking of naming her….miss fluffy bottom? what do y’all think?
Today we were visited by three hummingbirds….the smaller two i couldn’t get close enough to ID them, and the lighting was weird. The male of the two would fly high before swooping down over the Jasmine bush making a whooshing sound! I had never observed hummingbird’s before since Amarillo, TX never gets them…not sure why.
The one you see in the photos though is a Female Anna’s Hummingbird. She wasn’t afraid of us at all, even if we got super close(and we did! I was only a few inches from her in the top photos). She would chase off the other two when they would come nearby.
The male of the two was very loud and angry, I got some video of them and will post them sometime. Not sure what the reason was for this behavior…maybe they were fighting over food? Or was it a territory thing? Or was it also a male of the same species trying to show off.
No clue….but it looked more aggressive than seductive.
Anyway, I played around with my partner’s digital camera and got these shots today…i’ll post a few more later.
Our Lord and Savior, Raptor Jesus.
I decided randomly one night(after moving back to Washington) to paint an internet meme, and that meme was Raptor Jesus. I also hadn’t painted in awhile and I saw this old canvas I had decided to attempt to paint on, but never got around to it. This was the end result.
I went with more of a scientific raptor, with feathers and being a Deinonychus…since the jurassic park raptor head is used time and time for it. We all know that was a Deinonychus.
I also used an ammonite fossil because that seems more appropriate for it instead of a heart. Also due to the recent twitch plays pokemon meme’s as well….the Helix fossil.
Also excuse me on my hebrew, It says “I went extinct for your sins.”
I might later on sell this, but that depends on how interested people would be.
Done on 16.5” x 12.5”? stretched canvas with acrylic, gouache, and gold metallic paint, as well as ink pen.
